Deepen your practice of with this Standing Poses Iyengar workshop.
Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar with his
intellectual and spiritual practices has masterminded the techniques
which can be used by all practitioners of yoga. "Research based
experience" and "experience based research" has helped
him in evolving this technique which is now known as"Iyengar
Yoga". He has therefore made it possible for ordinary human
beings to experience the wisdom of the yoga sutras.
Iyengar yoga is meant for all and is a way of life. The use of props,
designed by Guruji , such as wooden gadgets, belts, ropes helps
the practitioner to achieve perfection in any asana. Regular practice
of 'Iyengar Yoga' definitely integrates the body, mind and emotions.
About Jaya
What strikes most people who meet Jaya? Her enthusiasm and love for the field of Yoga! Convinced from her 24 years of intense practice that Yoga is not simply a discipline for the body and mind, she carries the flavor of Yoga’s deep spiritual roots into her classes. Patanjali’s AshtangaYoga brings the practitioner face-to-face with inner Divinity. In recent years, she is spending between two and four months each year studying at RIMYI in Pune, while teaching and living in South India. She in turn offers this rich learning experience to one and all. Her fourteen years of teaching experience spans a large cross section of students ranging from 5 yrs of age to 85 yrs of age. She has worked with innumerous medical conditions and problems such as: shoulder, knee, back, neck, discs, ankle, wrist, elbow, arthritis, spondilitis, heart disease, asthma, lungs, emotional, immune disorders, MS, and digestive disorders to name only a few. She consulted B.K.S. Iyengar, Guruji, directly with some of these cases increasing further her wealth of understanding.
Jaya is Senior Intermediate I certified and looks forward to a long life of yoga practice here in the US as she has recently returned from her eleven-year sojourn in India. She often says, “With the ocean of Yoga behind us giving that foundational support for our lives, anything and everything is possible!” One of her main mottos for teaching comes from one of Guruji’s philosophies, “Yoga helps cure what need not be endured and endure what can not be cured.” She prays that the light of Yoga shines in all hearts of those who step under the umbrella of Yoga.
